“Yor’s World! He’s the man! He’s the man! Yor’s World!”
It’s the prehistoric past… or is it? There are dinosaurs, but there are also spaceships! It doesn’t matter, it’s not important because this is Yor: The Hunter from the Future, one of the stupidest films to emerge from the 1980s.
Starring Fridge Largemeat himself, Reb Brown (Space Mutiny, Captain America), Yor follows a Conan-esque caveman warrior who is here to kick ass, take names, seduce former Bond girls (Moonraker‘s Corinne Clery) and use giant bats as hand gliders!
Delivered with all the subtly of a man punching a dinosaur, Yor is a wonderfully cheesy Italian-French-Turkish action adventure, designed to capitalise on the success of Conan The Barbarian and Star Wars, that features an over-the-top theme song, wonky special effects and a third act twist that will only surprise you if you didn’t read the title for this film.
Plus it’s from renowned Italian schlock director Antonio Margheriti and also stars the grandad from Troll 2!
It is before the dawn of time. Strange, savage beasts roam the earth, foraging for human flesh. Fierce tribesmen prey on the weak and innocent. Mystic sacrifices appease the gods. Yor (Reb Brown, Space Mutiny) is the mightiest warrior of his era, but his own past and true identity are shrouded in the mists of time. He knows he doesn’t belong in this world, but his only clues to the fleeting memories of his past are the gold medallion around his neck and the beautiful priestess held prisoner in a forbidden city. Armed to the teeth, Yor sets off on a quest, ready to blast away all manner of terrifying creatures along the way.
